Our First Summit on Sustainable Menstruation was a Success!

We were joined by over 70 fellow menstrual enthusiasts at our first summit! Together, we learned about the environmental impacts of menstrual products, the history of menstrual care,  product manufacturing, and the methods we can use to lessen our effects on the environment.

Making Periods Awesome for Us AND the Environment

Greening the Red is the brainchild of two BIPOC vagina owners: Hope Cheeks and Tarita Thomas. Our goal is to cultivate a like-minded network of both vagina and non-vagina owners who are committed to building a healthier, shame-free, and environmentally sustainable menstrual product industry.

Leafscore reported in Summer 2020 that the U.S. sends almost 20 billion pads, tampons and applicators to landfills each year. Millions of vagina owners menstruate each day, and we believe that each one of them deserves access to a hygienic and environmentally sustainable menstrual product experience.

The ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic has given us a unique opportunity to broaden the scope of our Menstrual Health Network to an international scale through live virtual events. Our first of these network-building events,
